✳ A personal story, a request for mental health care

I want to get better. I need help getting treatment.

I've been living with depression for six years. After years of grief, loneliness, and trying to manage everything on my own, I want to seek professional mental health care. I'm asking for help affording the treatment and support I need.

There is no obligation to give. Reading or sharing my story matters, too.
A chance to heal. A step toward tomorrow.

A gentle content note: This story discusses depression, rejection, bereavement, and thoughts of not wanting to continue. Please take care of yourself while reading.

01 / THE PERSON BEHIND THE PAGE

This is my story.

I never imagined sharing something this personal with strangers. But sometimes being honest is the only place to begin.

Real photograph of raindrops on a dark window with blurred city lights beyond.
I don't know where my life is heading anymore. But I'm still here, and somewhere inside me, a part of me still wants to find a way forward.

Thank you for taking the time to listen.

01
CHILDHOOD

A difficult beginning

My parents divorced when I was just two years old. Neither of them wanted to raise me, so I was sent to live with relatives who eventually adopted me.

My adoptive family became my real family. They stood by me and never made me feel less deserving of love.

02
GROWING UP

Different, and made to feel alone

During middle school, classmates rejected and isolated me because I was gay. At the time, the place where I grew up was much less accepting. I was made to feel that something about me was shameful.

Thankfully, my adoptive family never treated me that way.

03
GRIEF

Too much loss, too soon

My adoptive father passed away suddenly while I was still in middle school. That same year, my best friend died after struggling with depression.

Before I had time to recover, I also lost my grandfather - the person who had insisted on taking me in. More than anything, he wanted me to live freely and happily.

04
MENTAL HEALTH

Six years of trying

I've struggled with depression for six years, sometimes feeling as though I couldn't keep going. People around me helped me through some of my darkest moments, and I'm grateful to them.

Even when I managed to move forward, I continued to struggle with a sense of emptiness and questions about what gives life meaning.

05
EDUCATION & CONNECTION

Moving forward on the outside

With encouragement, I continued my university studies in computer science and graduated. But afterward I still felt lost, with no clear idea of what to do next.

I tried to build friendships and relationships, but often felt weighed down by sadness. I sometimes pushed love away because I was afraid of hurting someone I cared about. I don't blame anyone for finding that difficult.

06
TODAY

Still here, still trying

Things have become more accepting where I live, but grief and my mental health still affect everyday life. I don't have a simple ending to this story, and I don't want to pretend I do.

I'm sharing this because I want to seek professional help rather than continue struggling alone. I hope that therapy and appropriate medical care can help me begin to feel more stable, connected, and hopeful about the future.

02 / WHY I'M ASKING

Not for luxury. For a chance to heal.

I'm asking for voluntary support to help pay for professional mental health treatment. I've lived with depression for six years, and I want to take meaningful steps toward recovery, but the cost of accessing care is a concern for me.

If you choose to donate, your support would help me pay for mental health consultations, counseling or psychotherapy, and any medication or follow-up care recommended by a qualified clinician. I cannot promise a particular outcome, but I want to give treatment a real chance.

Mental health consultations and assessments
Counseling or psychotherapy sessions
Prescribed treatment and follow-up appointments

This is a personal fundraising request to help me access mental health care, not a registered charity or a tax-deductible campaign. Donations are voluntary; treatment and recovery outcomes cannot be guaranteed.
